James Bidwell, is CEO of Springwise, operating at the heart of the global start-up, enterprise and innovation communities.
Prior to Springwise, James worked for 20 years in businesses where change and innovation were mission critical. Notably, he served as Marketing Director, Selfridges during the turnaround, CEO Visit London in the lead up to the Olympics and CEO Anthropologie, Europe spearheading the launch. James has also played pivotal roles at Disneyland Paris, eToys and Sega as well as leading the turnarounds at Cass Art and EasyArt.
He is passionate about nature and the outdoors, an avid mountain biker, fly-fisherman and sea kayaker as well as devoted father to his three daughters. James has great ambition for Springwise and our team, as a successful enterprise and as a force for good.
Chris Kreinczes, Editor in Chief, is responsible for overseeing all ongoing creative projects and content development from Springwise HQ. Chris holds a first class degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds, and started his career as a planner at some of the UK’s leading branding agencies, including The Marketing Store, before joining the Barbican Centre and Southbank Centre’s marketing and creative teams. He also briefly worked as a Folk Music archivist at London’s Cecil Sharp House, and enjoys mountain walking, kayaking and sailing.
With direct access to the Springspotters network of over 19,000 trend and innovation spotters worldwide, a diverse and holistic view of entrepreneurship and the startup scene, and an extremely in-depth knowledge of the Springwise database from over the last 12 years, Chris is an expert on both the present innovation landscape, where it has come from, and where it’s going. Chris has delivered keynotes worldwide and writes a column for Forbes.

Camilla Wilks is the Springwise Finance Director. Having graduated from Cambridge University in History Camilla trained as a Chartered Accountant in the City. After a short spell in advertising she made her career with the Arcadia Group, holding a number of management roles before being made a brand Finance Director. Camilla lives with her husband, their three children and a menagerie of cats, and loves travel, animals and walking.
Rebecca Trenner is Head of Commercial and responsible for all Springwise client services, brand partnerships and community activities. With a background in media and publishing, Rebecca has worked with some of the biggest media organisations in the world, most recently at The Guardian, managing commercial partnerships for The Guardian’s professional business portfolio. With experience in commercial content development, brand partnerships and events, Rebecca previously worked at Raconteur Media where she produced business reports for News International, and at Centaur Media where she co-headed the launch of a global event and international development conference in Brussels.
When she isn’t developing new Springwise partnerships, Rebecca can be found training for her next triathlon, scouting out the best London theatre and planning future travel adventures.
Tom Hughes is Lead Designer and Developer at Springwise. With a degree in Linguistics & Phonetics from the University of Leeds, Tom has a background in writing, graphic design and developing for the web. He has over 5 years’ experience as both a freelance journalist and front-end developer, and loves tweaking pixels until they’re perfect. Tom has the vital job of curating the playlists for the Springwise office along with Chris, and he’s also a writer of graphic novels and successfully Kickstarted an illustrated children’s book about dolphins in space.
Katy Young is a Springwise writer. She has a background in copywriting, marketing and social media management for Rockfeedback Music and Birds Eye View Film Festival. She also volunteers at Hackney Pirates, an after school literacy program in East London.
Grace Wang is the Junior Editor at Springwise. With an honours degree in Journalism and Politics from the University of Auckland, she has a background in sustainable fashion, music journalism and online content. She was content editor at an ethical fashion ecommerce site, and a writer for Vice, Opening Ceremony’s blog, and Bonafide Magazine — her portfolio includes interviews with Mobb Deep and Roy Ayers, and coverage of Frieze London and NYFW. When not creating features for Springwise, she likes to read, cook and overwater her house plants.
Paul Chiappe is a corporate lawyer acting for entrepreneurial clients with strong brands. In addition to advising on corporate acquisitions and disposals (£10m to £300m) he advises on all forms of commercial agreements, including LLP Agreements, shareholder and joint venture agreements.
He invests considerable time and energy with start-ups and handles a large number of private fund raisings as well as advising on the establishment of complex employee share plans.
