Customizable wristwatch features 10 designs in one

Fashion & Beauty

Dutch collective MIJLO has developed the Everyday Watch, a timepiece with two different faces and five straps.

There are some accessories which are typically too expensive to own more than one, meaning the same item is worn day in, day out. We’ve already seen Japan’s Nendo magne-hinge glasses use interchangeable arm designs to offer daily customization, and now Dutch collective MIJLO has developed the Everyday Watch, a timepiece with two different faces and five straps.

The device is designed in a classic style that takes advantage of universal appeal and lasting fashion. The two faces include black detail on a white face, with one clad in rose gold and the other in polished silver and featuring the numbers for 12, 3, 6 and 9. A button on the base of the watch makes it easy to switch out the faces at any time. Wearers can also choose between five different strap types and colors, including 3 leather, 1 canvas/leather and 1 rubber, each in black, brown, tan, green and blue. Each strap comes with a 5-year guarantee, meaning the Everyday Watch has a lifespan of up to 25 years.

The Everyday Watch can be pre-ordered through Kickstarter for CAD 179, around the same priceband for a typical high-quality watch. The campaign runs until 7 September. Are there other high-end accessories that could offer customization while maintaining high-end design?
