The brainchild of Brazilian Ecobenefícios, GreenCam is a PC app that automatically turns off the user’s monitor when he or she walks away from the computer. Now available as a free download from the Ecobenefícios site, GreenCam turns the user’s webcam into a motion sensor. Every time the user moves away from the front of the machine, GreenCam detects this, and turns off the screen to save energy.
