Time for an update: here we are working hard to bring you sophisticated new business ideas from around the globe, and guess what brought in the largest number of readers? Our piece last year on Kono Pizza: pizza in a cone. (From Kono Pizza's site: "the result of advanced studies and research both of a culinary nature and in terms of technological innovation.")
Since then, Kono Pizza has been going from strength to strength, sealing franchise deals around the world. However, they're not the only ones going after the billions spent by consumers on-the-go looking for portable comfort food: there's the Conniza in India (on the menu at Pizza Corners throughout the country) and US-based Crispy Cones, which smartly positions itself as the leader of all things cone.
Humble lesson to be learned? You can reinvent everything, you can copy everything, this is a multi-billion dollar industry, consumers are increasingly TRANSUMERS and dozens of countries (and thus hundreds of millions of consumers) are still waiting for their first pizza cone outlet... So this idea still has mileage, more than a year after it received mass coverage. And that in itself is interesting, too: things move fast, but they don't always move *that* fast. Time to get cooking.

I still really love this concept. I just wanted to let you know that I need one in Antwerp. When is somebody going to bring it to Belgium?
I will even allow the franchiser a free spot on my website Dolcevia.com to advertise his concept:-) )
Hi,
a famous Austrian chef called Joerg Woerther has developed a new concept: he puts everything in cones. Check out: http://www.finestfingerfood.com/

The minute I finished reading the article about KonoPizza, I checked the web site out. We don't have it in our country yet, but we're going on a holiday in Tokyo next week. I saw on their web site that there's KonoPizza in Japan. Anyone knows where KonoPizza is in Japan?

When I read about this I thought it was a great idea but when I mentioned it to colleagues, most thought it would never catch on - glad to see I'm being proved right!!!
The invention of the "food you love in a cone" didn’t start in Italy nor was invented by Konopizza. It was robed by Rossano Boscolo. The Conopizza and the Pizzacono products concept are the development of Nir Adar from the US www.niradar.com
The new thing is not the pizza it is the vessel, the first real portable food (since the pita pocket). This concept and product are the future of tradition and will most likely become to be a staple in the next few years.
Crispycones is offering a healthy delicious alternative to those who likes great food on the go
