A patent pending package design, the VIZcap allows consumers to release vitamins and other supplements into water just before they drink it. The technology was developed in response to what VIZdrinks considers to be underperforming sport and health drinks, which lose their potency while bottles and cans sit on store shelves.

VIZcaps avoid that problem by storing the vitamins and supplements in a sealed chamber in the cap. To prepare their drink, consumers remove a seal, press the cap's plunger, hear a 'pop' and watch the ingredients fizz their way into the water. (The website has a video showing the action.)

The cap works with standard bottle sizes and can be installed on any bottling line. Not just for sports drinks, VIZcaps can also deliver syrups, freeze-dried crystals, baby formula and even over-the-counter medicines. To reduce the number of plastic bottles used, multiple VIZcap closures can be used with a single, refillable water bottle.

Springwise usually only features products and services that have already been launched. But since AGFL (VIZcap's inventors and designers) are actively seeking partners, we thought those of you in F&B might like to explore the concept. Make sure to drop us a line if you're about to market the first VIZzy drink!

Comments on this idea:

don't forget those of us who only want our water to be water!

Great disbursement system that sure seems like it could be used in kids' drinks for entertainment value and all sorts of sports / health related drinks. This could also deliver indulgent flavor and ingredients. What they are selling is the freshness of the the newly disbursed ingredients along with DIY and enterainment value. - Great new product I hope it flys.

This is nothing new. Already exist quite some time in the pharmaceutical world. Lysox® syrup for instance uses this concept.

Again, this has already been done here in New Zealand with a multivitamin tablet released into a drink in a similar way. It was launched years ago and after ~12 months went off the market. However...good luck with the concept.

frankly, anything that only lasted for a year couldn't have been that good. this not only looks good, but it looks like it's being marketed properly. good luck viz.

It's not about whether the idea is new or not. Key is execution. I've never seen the Lysox syrup nor the New Zealand multivitamin tablet bottle. Good luck, VIZdrinks.

I am trying to contact vizdrink but thier link contactAFGL@vizdrink.com does not go through. Any suggestions contact me fleonesio@owaters.com

New Zealand not only has the best American Cup sportsmen it also has an amazing delivery system of tablets into water bottles. The Stage One of this invention was on the market for six months until the company was bought out.Stage Two will have world-wide release in 2008.VIZcap is heavy with plastic and I don't think it will keep the tablet moisture proof !

This concept comes from Indian old soda bottles. There are hard to find nowadays, but were still the most commun less than 10 years back. "the Marble bottle", some kids would break the bottle and keep the marble [but then would not get the money back on the bottle!! Tought decision to make!].
One can still find them in small town. And they have much more character than this one :(

Those old 'indian soda bottles' are still available even in bigger cities like Delhi, apart from smaller towns. They are amazing and very refreshing. I have one practically every other day. But they are not of the concept of disposing anything into the bottle. They are just marbles forced and stuck to the top of the bottle on the inside due to the co2 pressure. They pop very nicely when pressed with the finger! :)
