It is just pushing it. Youtube concept wont be applied easily to every craigslist item. And HEY, if you want to sell something, you can always put it on youtube. So not only it is not an original idea but it is not thought well either. Lets do Ebay + Youtube..

I really like the concept, but understand some of the points raised. I think the point raised about selling something on YouTube is valid, but you have to understand that YouTube was never intended for that and i'm not sure it's something that they will ever explore. I think the next step for people selling via the likes of eBay is to create online virtual showrooms with sales staff and allow other customers to browse at the same time - kind of like a Second Life meets eBay. This really has the potential to fully engage the consumer and make the product feel more tangible.

This is silly. Takes long enough to create an ad with photos and deal with the flakes on craigslist. This makes more sense for other areas (see services/erotic)...

Take a look at www.adhysteria.com it's got video only classifieds as well as text classifieds. You'll find personal video ads, for sale services etc all video. Its all integrated very neatly with google maps.
Listasaurus.com also has video classifieds, as well as text. But they take it a step further for something new--they PAY users to list their ads! Even if you don't include a video (you have to include at least a photo though).
Also says on their site they will be adding auctions soon, so there's the ebay meets youtube concept.

i was looking for the code to embed a video into craigslist but come tot find out craigslist dosent want videos on thier site so i googled around some more found this site and i registered and now im about to do what i was trying to do on craigslist in less than 5 mins thats crazy. i would invest in this website if i knew how because this is the start of another Supersite!
