KoalaDeal is a new site that scours the web for the particular deals the user is most likely to love.

Now that the daily deal sites have been around for some time, the niche and spin-off variations are coming fast and furious. Hard on the heels of our story about ThinkNear — which customizes the process for the stores offering the deals — comes word of KoalaDeal, a site that scours the web for the particular deals the user is most likely to love. Now in private beta, Chicago-based KoalaDeal is a free tool that uses information about the user’s interests and past purchases to find matching deals from the most popular deals sites. Users begin by teaching KoalaDeal about their tastes and interests; they can choose categories manually or simply let the site automatically scan their past purchases in Gmail or their interests as indicated on Facebook or Twitter. Using that information, KoalaDeal searches the web for relevant deals and presents them to the user, who can then browse and pick out the ones they like.
