Luxury denim brand designs jeans tailored for technology

In 1871, Jacob W. Davis and Levi Strauss created hard-wearing trousers designed for gold miners, made from fabric imported from Italy. When mass production began in 1873, the jeans had two pockets in the front and one on the back. Aside from the addition of two more pockets, and copper rivets, jeans have changed very little in the intervening years. Until now. Product designer Joe Doucet and luxury denim brand 3x1 have partnered to produce jeans designed for the 21st century.
