If movie buffs can watch their favorite films while soaking in a relaxing hot tub, then why shouldn’t boating enthusiasts be afforded a similar luxury? That’s where HotTug comes in, with a wood-fired hot tub that doubles as a boat for cruising on the open water. A creation of Dutch Supergoed, the HotTug is “the first wood-fired hot tub boat in the world,” according to its creators. With or without water inside, the HotTug is a stable boat for up to eight people. With a capacity of about 1,800 liters of water, however, the HotTug can be fired up to 100 degrees F in about 2.5 hours for relaxation on the nearest lake, river or other waterway. Company founder Frank de Bruyn explains: “It’s much more than a boat, it’s a vessel with different options. When the tug is filled, there is only a narrow rim between you and the water, making you feel at one with your surroundings.” The video below depicts the HotTug in action: The HotTug is available in two versions: one with an integrated electric motor of 2.4 KW, and one designed for an outboard engine, however this is not supplied. Pricing begins at EUR 11,450, including VAT. HotTugs are already available for rent at “Werf IJlst” in Friesland, Holland, and the company welcomes inquiries from potential rental stations in other parts of the world.
