Taking a business to the customer is becoming more common, with smart cities experimenting with everything from mobile civic services to office shuttle buses that turn the commute into usable work time. In Nigeria, Wema Bank Plc has begun providing a Wema Bank on Wheels service. The traveling bank supplies customers with all regular branch services as well as two automatic teller machines.
The Wema customer service team emphasizes the importance of being able to reach customers who have yet to benefit from online banking and other new services. In 2016, the solar-powered mobile bank won an award for its sustainable design. The Bank on Wheels is already traveling around the country, and customers can contact their nearest branch or the head office for more information on the mobile service’s travel schedule.
