It’s always interesting to hear the progress businesses we’ve covered in the past have made. At launch the future is always uncertain, so it’s good to share their successes. Here are five businesses who’ve been making significant headway since we last checked in with them:

Designed for the bald-headed male market, Bold For Men was set up with the intention of providing quality skin products for men who regularly shave their heads. Since its humble beginnings the company has now evolved the product so it now has multiple purposes, suitable for use on the face as well as the head. Cage is one business whose founders are keen to learn from customer feedback to help improve the service they offer. Offered as a collaboration tool to be used between freelancers, designers and agencies commissioning the work, Cage offers an online space where all parties can upload their work as it progresses and get feedback as they go along. Delving back into the Springwise archives now we turn to Blik, a wall graphics company that allow their customers to remove the design easily from their wall should they change their mind or fancy a switch. Since covering them in 2006 the team behind Blik have developed an eco-friendly wall graphic material that is non-vinyl, PVC and phthalate free and contains non-VOCs. Grantoo noticed that online gaming was a popular form of procrastination among college students. They took this pastime and decided to make it a productive activity by enabling students to win educational grants through their gaming. Since their launch in March of this year they have grown considerably, and have now made their games available to all students with an ‘.edu’ email address. CloudFactory have managed to merge a social cause with an outsourcing platform by pairing companies with workers in developing countries to provide employment opportunities where they are traditionally scarce.
