There’s a notion among jeans aficionados that they’re best left unwashed, but this can lead to some slightly funky-smelling pants. To help women stay sweet-scented this summer, Portuguese fashion brand Salsa has introduced its Fragrance Jeans range, which come imbued with fruity smells.
According to the company, each pair is created from a cotton and elastane blend that feature microcapsules embedded into the fabric. Available in five ‘flavors’ — blueberry, orange, lemon, apple and strawberry — the microcapsules release their scent over time, meaning wearers can enjoy smelling good even if they neglect to wash their jeans. When they do, the jeans will retain their fruity fragrance for up to 20 washes. The range comes in a slim style and medium waist, currently retailing for EUR 63 a pair.
Fragrance Jeans aren’t the first of their kind to offer cosmetic additions. In the past, we’ve seen Wrangler’s Denim Spa range, which moisturize women’s legs as they wear them while also working to reduce cellulite. Are there other ways jeans can be combined with cosmetic substances?
