We truly do live in the information age, with 90 percent of all of the data ever produced being created in the last two years alone. Presenting these facts and figures in a way that is understandable requires math, coding and design skills, but Infoactive is a new platform that makes it easy for anyone turn their data into visual stories.
Working in any web browser, the software pulls data Google Drive spreadsheets which users can connect to any project. More information can be added to the spreadsheet at any time and the infographic will update in real time. Users can pick from a range of charts, maps, text and icons to create their story, as well as tweaking the style to match their desired look. By dragging and dropping, as well as resizing content on the page, each infographic can be laid out exactly as users want, ready for print or to be embedded as a responsive widget on the web. Filters can also be added to enable viewers to alter the information they’re seeing according to parameters set by the designer, making online infographics more interactive. Infoactive recently surpassed its Kickstarter target by nearly five times and users can currently sign up for a beta invite to the service. Are there other ways to make it easier for businesses, journalists and others to manage the data they process each day?
